The Long Silence

Hey everybody! Please forgive my very long silence. For the past few months I've been so busy...I'm exhausted!

At least the results now can be seen in the Anuradhapura Gallery of the Colombo National Museum! But that is just half the work. The other half is scheduled to commence from next week.

The week following the Tsunami was one of utter agony. I knew a few who were out holidaying in various parts of the island's coastal belt. Within 1 or 2 days of course most of them contacted me and said that they were A-ok. But two did not till a while later. One of them who was at Hambantota missed it by a matter of 15 minutes while the other who was at Yala got caught to the wave. But he too was saved.

After listening to his harrowing story I thought to myself, "What about all those people who can't swim?" Uditha is a diver, which, combined with his courage and guardian angel, is what probably saved him. Now if I had got caught to the wave I'm sure I would have been killed instantly! Or I would have taken a few minutes to drown and then I would have died!

Many are not prepared to die this very instant; and no one is prepared to die in this horrible manner.

Once again I thank God for sparing me the heartache of losing someone I love and care for.

"God, I know you must be checking your mail as well. This Thank You is from me."
